When will GTA 6 come to PC?
Rockstar has launched its biggest games on consoles first for two decades, then brought them to PC later. The wait has ranged from about seven months to over a year and a half, and in one case fourteen years.
| Game | Console | PC | PC wait |
|---|---|---|---|
| GTA San Andreas | Oct 2004 | Jun 2005 | 7 months |
| GTA 4 | Apr 2008 | Dec 2008 | 7 months |
| GTA 5 | Sep 2013 | Apr 2015 | 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Oct 2018 | Nov 2019 | 12 months |
| Red Dead Redemption | May 2010 | Oct 2024 | 14 years |
| GTA 6 | Nov 2026 | Not announced | – |
If GTA 6 follows Red Dead Redemption 2 (12 months) or GTA 5 (19 months), the PC version would arrive between roughly November 2027 and June 2028. That's in line with most estimates in the press, but it's a pattern, not a promise: the first Red Dead Redemption only reached PC in 2024.
What has Rockstar said about GTA 6 on PC?
Nothing official. On Take-Two's May 2026 earnings call, CEO Strauss Zelnick didn't commit to a PC version or a date. He called PC a great market and said that “virtually all of our hit titles end up on all platforms over time,” while pointing out that GTA 6 has only been announced for consoles.
Will GTA 6 be on PC?
Very likely, eventually, but it hasn't been announced. Every main GTA since GTA 3 has come to PC, and Take-Two says its hit games end up on all platforms over time. For now GTA 6 is only confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
When is the GTA 6 PC release date?
There isn't one yet. Going by Rockstar's last two big games, which reached PC 12 and 19 months after their console launch, a PC version would land between late 2027 and mid 2028. Treat any specific date you see as a guess until Rockstar announces it.
Why isn't GTA 6 on PC at launch?
Rockstar hasn't said. It has launched its recent big games on consoles first, and Take-Two has described GTA's core audience as console players. A later PC release also leaves time for the extra work a PC version needs, such as supporting a huge range of hardware.
What are the GTA 6 PC system requirements?
They haven't been published. Rockstar usually reveals PC requirements when it announces a PC version, so any minimum or recommended specs you see today are guesses. We'll add the official ones here when they're out.
Will GTA 6 be on Steam?
Nothing is announced. Rockstar's recent PC releases, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Redemption, came to the Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam and the Epic Games Store, so a PC version would most likely follow the same route.
Can I play GTA 6 on PC right now?
No. There's no official way to play GTA 6 on PC yet, so ignore sites offering a GTA 6 PC download: they're scams or malware. If you're playing on console, our free map works in any PC browser as a second screen.
